What People Say?
Extensive effort but great views The Leisure bike ride was not leisure at all! We rode our bikes a little over 13 miles long up big hills. One lady fell off her bike cuz they were a little hard to ride. I think they lump the leisure and the intensive one together. It was also over 2.5 hours. Closer to 4- maybe cuz our group was slower. The views were beautiful though. It was great to have a local take us around and answer our questions. It was a lot of fun, and we were glad we did it! But the seat really hurt our butts- we were sore for the next 4 days.
Gerika BFun Bike Tour around Zadar This bike tour was a great way to tour around the town of Zadar, Croatia. The folks at Zzuum Bike tours were great to work with, both in arranging the tour in advance, and also in being sure that we had the bikes set up properly and that we knew the local "rules of the road". Our guide, Nevio (I'm not sure about the spelling), was wonderful. He talked about his own experiences as a young man in the area and shared lots of interesting historical information. We stopped several times for short breaks, which was nice, and we had a great lunch at a little restaurant right on the beach. All the email exchanges I had with Nicolas in arranging the tour were also very helpful. I highly recommend these guys if you are contemplating something a little different for your stay in Zadar.
KiketBeachA bit strange. Normally with bike tours you get to see the best bits of the city + some explanation of local history. Not with this one. The tour is not authorized to go into the old city so it’s around the suburbs ( not pretty). The guide was a good guy but there was too much cycling in light industrial areas in significant traffic and heat. So beware. Good view of the city from the top of a fairly steep hill.
francis hGreat Overview of the City This ride is about 14 miles (including one big hill that a few of us struggled with). Our guide was incredibly friendly and was able to tell us about the city. I do wish there would have been a little more history at the various stops, but we got to see a lot of the city. We were forced to move quicker than normal because one of the other people on the tour had a lunch reservation. But this tour really made us fall in love with Zadar.
Allison WLoved our Bike Tour of the Coastline We had a great tour guide but I'm sorry that I can't remember his name but I took a photo. His English was excellent and speaks a number of languages. It was a great opportunity to cover a lot of area that we would have never seen if we just tried to walk. Croatia was my favorite country on my trip of Slovenia, Italy, Malta and Montenegro. The Croatian people have been through so much and I can't help but love the people and their country. The coastline and beaches are fabulous. There was some confusion as to the starting time and we had to wait on another group to arrive so just be sure to verify your starting time. My bike and helmet were fine. Wish I had more time in Croatia.
janLouisaKYPerfect way to spend 3 hours in Zadar We met Nevio and Ncolas at 10:00 and were shown our bikes - new and very comfortable. Nevio showed us a map with our three hour route around the bay and up into the hills above Zadar. Nevio stopped every once in a while to point out and explain what we were seeing - very informative. He had a great sense of humor and answered any questions, historical, political of just inquisitive. We biked at a good pace and got a good workout going up the hill for the vista of Zadar. This is a bike ride for somewhat fit people, not those out of shape looking for an easy ride. This was a great tour with a great service.
James HFun Day in Zadar My family of 4 did a private bike tour of Zadar - it was very hot, and there was a challenging hill to get to the panoramic view spot, but our guide was careful to stop along the way and let the kids rest. We got a terrific view of Zadar that extended well beyond the walled-city. Our guide was great - funny, interesting and very knowledgeable. We loved Zadar - it's a great place to visit!
cmtravels2017Gentle exercise good guide 5 of us booked a bike tour with ZZuum. The bikes were well maintained and Nicholas the ? owner and Ante our guide were fun and pleasant.
Ante was very knowledgeable and took us around Zadar but not much of the old town.
There were good views from the top of the hill. A little steep at the end but all of us in our 60 s and we all made it.
Very nice bike path along the ocean on the way home. Thanks to Ante for the tour . Recommended if you want gentle exercise and want to see more of Zadar other than the old town.
Frankly after Kotor and Budva in Montenegro it is nice but not as good60woollyGreat Bike tour Zzuum's bike tour of Zadar was very good. The tour guide (Luka) was a friendly guide and it was great getting to see a lot of the old town and surrounding areas within a just one afternoon. There were nice views of the entire city from a hilltop and it was nice being able to learn about the city from a local's perspective and see other less touristy areas. And Nicolas was extremely helpful in organising the tour for me at short notice. Would fully recommend Zzuum for Zadar tours/excursions
Hardeep GAmazing Bike Tour of Zadar We used Zzuum for a guided trip around Zadar. They were able to get us in day of and we ended up getting a private bike tour. Ante was our guide and he was fantastic! He made sure we were going at a comfortable pace, and was very knowledgeable about Zadar's history. We were able to stop and take pictures wherever we wanted, so it ended up being a very personal experience and one of the highlights of our trip!
BB BBike & learn Really nice tour of the area around Zadar; good workout too! Thanks Ante for making it fun & interesting! We learned a lot too. The view from above the city was spectacular. It moved me to know that this was one of the fighting lines in the homeland war. Thanks for being an excellent tour guide.
68DJOBook it! I'm just back from a fabulous morning exploring Zadar with Ante and it was perfect! The cycle was leisurely - so I felt comfortable throughout. Yet we covered the whole of Zadar in just one morning! Ante was able to answer all my questions and more and the view from the top of the hill was truly spectacular!
Overall, a very worthwhile trip from a genuine and compassionate small business.
Thank you Ante and Nicolas!CherrydoveA great way to explore Zadar! My husband and I booked a morning guided bike tour with ZZuum before we left the UK. The booking process was easy and we received an email confirmation soon after. Nicolas contacted us a couple of days before our tour to suggest we made an earlier start on the day of our tour because high temperatures were expected. This suited us well, and we met our guide Sandra at 9.30am. For the next 3 hours we enjoyed a fascinating insight into this lovely city. The cycling was enjoyable, with numerous stops, including one for coffee near the marina, allowing Sandra to share her knowledge and enthusiasm for her home town. We learnt so much from her about its history and about more recent events, as well as suggestions about where to eat traditional food and where to buy Croatian products. Many thanks to Sandra for such an interesting introduction to Zadar! It's definitely the best way to see around!
Sue CJust a Wonderful Experience I was in Zadar for just a day on the Celebrity Constellation. I always look for bike tours and have taken them in 20 or so cities around the globe , from New York to Paris and Tokyo.
I made inquiry of Zzuum about their 3 hour explore Zadar tour. It was available for October 9 and Phillip invited me to make a 12 euro deposit of the 40 euro cost. I asked if there were other guests and how many they would need to make the tour not cancel. He said he didn't have anybody yet but if I was he only one they would do the tour just for me. And they did.
Well maintained hybrid bike. My guide Marina was great. A very interesting person. We saw the entire area. Stopped for coffee at a beautiful seaside cafe. Really got to see how the people live. Just couldn't have been better. They mostly do sports and adventure tours but this sightseeing tour was great. Beautiful lookout. Given their generosity in doing the tour for just one person paying a single group fee it was one of my best bike tour experiences ever. 5 stars.TexasYokelGreat Bike Ride round Zadar We had a lovely ride around Zadar, it's not a bike 'tour' like Fat Tyres in Paris or London (short with regular stops for landmarks/history) but more a bike ride with a guide to show you a nice route, the view and point out a couple of things. There is a bit of a hill up but it is worth it for the view. I'd recommend the evening ride as it would be quite hot cycling in the midday sun and we got to see the sunset at the end. Thank you Luka!
SaywabishWonderful bike tour!! My friends and I spent a lovelly day during the bike tour that Zzum have made for us!!
We were a group of 28 persons and they offered us a customized tour with attractive prices. The bikes were really nice and the two guides with us were really sympathic and professional. The tour in the countryside and along the beach (with swimming time!!) was great!
We spent 1 week in Zadar and it was the best activity we did.
Thank you again!
Super balade en VTT avec des vélos de qualité! L'accueil a été très chaleureux. Je le conseil vivement!!Fred_Champao
CYCLING ADVENTURE IN ZADAR REGION
A week full of surprises
LAKE VRANA
Lake Vrana measures more than 30 square kilometres which makes it the largest Croatian lake. The lake is situated in karst valley. More than 260 bird species live on the lake and that is the reason why it has been declared ornithological reserve. Also, there are more than 50 km of cycling trails around the lake. There you can enjoy the beauty of this amazing place.
RAVNI KOTARI
Ravni kotari is a region in northern Dalmatian. It is famous for preserving old traditions and production of home-made food. There you will find beautiful nature, great locations for fishing and outdoor activities, but most of all, warm, hospitable local people.
BIOGRAD
This charming town is located only 30 km away from Zadar. Biograd was the capital of medieval Croatian state. Today, it is a place where rich history, vicinity of the islands Ugljan and Pašman and lake Vrana make perfect combination and attract more and more tourists every year.
