PAKLENICA - NATURE AT ITS FINEST
Situated at 45 minutes drive from Zadar, National Park Paklenica is nested in the southern part of Velebit mountain range. It is the longest range of Dinaric Alps. Declared a nature park in its entirety, it harbors two national parks – North Velebit and Paklenica.

VELIKA PAKLENICA CANYON
Velika Paklenica Canyon is the most famous Croatian climbing site which attracts not only local climbers but climbers all around the world. This canyon is very narrow and deep up to 400m. It stretches from Anića kuk to Marasovići. At some places there are rocks in the canyon that create smal waterfalls and rapids.
ROCK CLIMBING IN PAKLENICA
Paklenica is the most popular climbing centre in Croatia. There are about 500 different climbing routes, from the most simple to the most challenging ones. Both beginners and professional climbers can easily find the route that suites them best.
Velebit is the largest Croatian mountain. It is 145km long and the highest peak is Vaganski vrh (1757m).In 1978. this karst mountain has become Biospfere Reserve due to its bilogical diversity. Whole mountain range is protected nature park and Paklenica and Sjeverni Velebit (North Velebit) are national parks.
